CDMX, Mexico. – Through its official portal, the Mexican government announced this Thursday the implementation of a special program with exclusive appointments to serve Cubans with relatives who are in Mexico. The measure responds to the high demand for visas for family reunification that the Aztec consulate has in Havana.
The Foreign Ministry details that as of this February 17 the program will be enabled. The institution specifies that the Appointments are exclusively for the family reunification visa process for the period between April and June 2023.
He Consulate of Mexico in Havana will inform about the opening of the aforementioned appointments through their social networks, the cited source also indicated.
The official statement recalls that the appointments are “free, personal and non-transferable” and that “they will be assigned according to the order in which they have been requested until they are exhausted.” In addition, the immigration authorities advise not to go to third parties that offer the service of scheduling the appointment in exchange for money. These appointments could be canceled without prior notice.
“Do not risk your personal information and your money,” recommends the Secretariat.
To access an appointment, it is necessary to register at citascuba.sre.gob.mx if you did not have a previous registration. In the case of people who have already registered a user for this procedure, they will be considered. That is, they do not have to generate an additional record.
This new dating program for Cubans is a response to the continuous criticism that the Aztec Foreign Ministry receives, and specifically its consulate in Havana.
Last March, the Mexican authorities assured that they were aware of the complaints about the availability and alleged sale of appointments to carry out procedures at their consulate in Havana. These complaints have been exposed in recent years in the media, social networks and through the Comprehensive System of Citizen Complaints of the Ministry of Public Administration.
