The Government of Mexico decided to instruct his ambassador in Peru, Pablo Monroy Conesa, to return to his country hours after being declared persona non grata by the Peruvian government.
Peru’s measure was given in the face of constant statements by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador about the political crisis, which have been considered interference in internal affairs.
“The Ministry of Foreign Relations has instructed Ambassador Pablo Monroy Conesa to return to Mexico in order to protect his safety and physical integrity,” the Mexican Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
As reported, the Embassy of Mexico in Peru “will continue to operate normally” and will be in charge of the first secretary Karla Ornelas Loera.
