Since Chinese exporters and their government did not participate in the process, the Secretariat was based on the information provided by the national producer Tamsa and other data collected. It was concluded that withdrawing the fee would allow China, with its great production and export capacity, send more products to Mexico, affecting the national industry with practices of dumping.
Therefore, the compensatory quota will remain in force in the same terms since January 8, 2024, thus protecting the Mexican unfair import industry.
On December 13, 2019, the resolution that extended for five years plus the compensatory quota of $ 1,568.92 per metric ton to the imports of China’s sewing steel pipes was published in the DOF, regardless of the country from which they are sent.
