“Mexico does what we tell them to do”: Trump

The United States economy

The United States is here. Their decisions and actions have direct repercussions and the Mexican government costs more work more work as a form of “cooperation.” Trump’s phrase, said at a press conference yesterday, August 14, he cheered many and angered the most. But Trump really is not especially interested in ending the 4T. Morena is just a footnote. If the second floor government is docile -as was the first floor -then you will not care about the lack of democracy and legal certainty in our country. It seems that the 4T found a rough and more threatening bully.

Actually, Trump’s phrase did not even have a particular dedication, it is the style of the orange man. The sentence was also applied to Canada. I guess the phrase did not like most Canadians and Mexicans. Even less to President Sheinbaum, who hastened to clarify that in our country “the people command.” However, the facts of recent weeks seem to point to an increase in the pressure of US authorities towards their government. They are doing politics in Mexico and every step show that sovereignty and popular mandate are part of a narrative that every day is more difficult to sustain the president.

Recall that a few weeks ago, the United States Department of the Treasury accused two banks and a stock market (CI BANCO, Intercam Banco and Vector Casa de Bolsa) to carry out money laundering actions for drug trafficking. Orders issued by the United States Financial Crime Control Network are related to illicit opioid traffic, so fund transfers to these institutions were prohibited, one of them linked to Alfonso Romo, a man very close to Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Immediately, from the morning the operation began to deactivate the coup: “They are small banks”, “there are no indications in Mexico of what they are accused.” However, the National Banking and Securities Commission intervened them. What did Pablo Gómez in the FIU that did not detect anything? Was the parcels look the other way? The matter has cooled, but the message was very clear: we are monitoring them and are vulnerable.

This week the temperature rose more. On August 11, two Mexican businessmen residing in Texas were accused in the United States to bribe Mexican Petroleum officials (Pemex) to manipulate tenders and obtain contracts for at least 2.5 million dollars, according to a statement from the United States Department of Justice. These entrepreneurs are: Ramon Alexandro Rovirosa Martínez and Mario Alberto Ávila Lizárraga. Very serious that a case of corruption in Pemex has uncovered in the United States. Where were the Mexican authorities? There are only two: they are inept or accomplices. One more question: who were the bribed officials? In this case, Sheinbaum only pointed out that Mario Alberto Ávila was a PAN candidate for Campeche’s governorship.

Another one: on August 13, the United States Department of the Treasury accused the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) of having built a sophisticated network of shared time fraud that has scammed approximately 300 million dollars to about six thousand US citizens, did not the Mexican authorities notice this?

In the height, the United States Department of the United States has announced rewards that total 26 million dollars “for information that leads to the arrest and/or the conviction of five leaders of the Criminal Cartel Organization, which has been called a terrorist.” The best known of these

Leaders is Juan José Farías Álvarez, aka “El Abuelo”, for which they offer 10 million dollars. Will we have gringos hunting in national territory? What do Mexican authorities say?

To calm the anger of the American volcano, the extradition of 26 inmates required by the authorities of our northern neighbor was announced. Among those transferred to the United States there are important names: Servando Gómez “La Tuta”, leader of “The Knights Templar”, and Abigael González Valencia, “El Cuini”, one of the main operators of the Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) cartel (CJNG) and brother -in -law of Mencho. One of the arguments wielded by both the president and its Secretary of Security is that the extradited ones represented a permanent risk of public security, despite being in prison. This is a disability confession. It doesn’t matter if they are imprisoned, they continue to operate from there.

It ends a week that demonstrated the disability (or complicity) of the Mexican authorities. The United States is here and will continue to press a government that presents many vulnerable points.
