Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente visited the Processing Center of the Office of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) in Dallas, Texas, where he spoke with authorities and Mexican people in the removal process, to learn about first-hand, the conditions that must guarantee that their human rights are respected at all times.
“It is about establishing very good communication with our community and this will undoubtedly be part of the relationship and fruitful dialogue that President Sheinbaum’s government has begun to build not only with the administration of President (Joe) Biden who is about to end but also with the administration of the president-elect, Donald Trump,” said the chancellor.
On Tuesday, De la Fuente announced that the federal government was already preparing a plan for the possible mass deportation of migrants that Trump has promised.
Meanwhile, in a morning conference that same day, Sheinbaum explained that part of the plan included hiring lawyers to expand the attention of compatriots through the consulates.
