Mexican pediatricians oppose the immunization of children with the Abdala “vaccine”

MADRID, Spain.- Following the recent announcement by the Mexican Government of its intention to immunize children against COVID-19 With the Cuban Abdala “vaccine”, pediatricians from the Aztec country expressed their opposition, since the Cuban vaccine candidate has not been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to the specialists told the Mexican newspaper Excelsiorthe Pfizer-BioNTech application is only recommended for minors, and they highlighted the importance that all medicines and vaccines, especially for children, have the relevant certifications.

“So far, the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) of the World Health Organization, WHO, has concluded that the only safe vaccine to be used in people 5 years of age or older is Pfizer/BioNTech and the Moderna vaccine can be used in people over 12 years of age, as the Mexican Academy of Pediatrics, the highest childhood health authority in our country, warned a month ago,” the pediatricians insisted.

According to the doctor and public health policy analyst, Xavier Tello, what is happening is that “the Mexican Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, does not intend to buy Pfizer and, under pressure, is looking for a way vaccinate children with something that is affordable; hence the rapprochement with Cuba”.

“It is very likely that we will end up with a minimum percentage of Pfizer doses and that they will seek to buy only from Cuba,” he added.

This April 19, the Mexican Undersecretary of Health, when announcing that his country was analyzing the possibility of using the Cuban Abdala and the Chinese Sinovac “vaccines”, he considered that the Caribbean variant is “an excellent option.”

Until the report of the World Health Organization of the March 2, 2022 on the authorization of vaccines, Abdala had not passed the first phase of the evaluation process and was still under review.
