The agency noted that all were under its protection with the support of the National System for the Comprehensive Protection of Girls, Boys and Adolescents “in order to provide them with comprehensive care and protection, while their legal situation is determined.”
He also said that there are no detainees.

According to the Mexican newspaper Reformthe boat was approaching the waters of the port of Topolobampo, in the municipality of Ahome, in Sinaloa and the adolescents were allegedly deprived of their freedom.
The authorities have not specified whether the minors are Mexican or foreigners or why they were in that situation.
