The Mexican Caribbean was present in Chicago at the Wedding Salonthe most important event in the wedding and romance industry from the United States, a destination that has a high preference for Quintana Roo for marriage bonds, honeymoons, anniversaries, renewal of vows, bachelor parties and other romance events.

The event brought together more than 150 exhibitors, from photographers, videographers, beauty experts, bakeries, dessert tables, locations, destinations, hotels, chefs, designers of invitations, flowers, furniture, decoration, to celebrity wedding planners.

Brides and grooms also attended, interested in discovering unique locations such as those of the Mexican Caribbean, which offers natural settings; extensive white sand beaches, cenotes, caverns, lagoons; and luxury hotels, docks, boats, gardens, terraces, palapas, lounges, catamarans.

“Thanks to the extensive connectivity we have with the United States and Canada, as well as the variety of settings to hold these events, the Mexican Caribbean is positioned among the first places for grooms about to get married. Destination weddings continue to be very popular, and thanks to the growth in the offer, couples can find something to suit them in any of our 12 destinations”, commented Darío Flota Ocampo, general director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo.

This meeting is also held in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington DC, where the latest trends in wedding and romance destinationsTherefore, the participation of the Mexican Caribbean with all its destinations is essential to position them within this segment, especially in the United States, which continues to be the main source market for tourists to Quintana Roo, added Flota Ocampo.

Prior to this business meeting, the Mexican Caribbean also participated in the 12th edition of the LAT Wedding Congressheld in Monterrey, Nuevo León from September 5 to 8, in which it was announced that Riviera Maya will be the next venue for this congress, which brings together more than 450 professionals from the romance industry and is organized by the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals, (IADWPfor its acronym in English).

It would be the second time that Quintana Roo has hosted this congress, since the first time was held in 2017, explained Flota Ocampo.

This meeting has the parallel objective of updating participants on wedding trends, as well as creating strategic alliances between professionals in this industry through business appointments to continue the reactivation of this segment, added the official.
