The State Police and the National Institute of Migration of Mexico (INM) reported about the rescue of 49 migrants of different nationalities, including Nicaraguans, Ecuadorians, Cubans and Dominicans.
Media from the Aztec country reported on the rescue of these undocumented immigrants who were hiding in a property located in the Santa Catarina neighborhood. The 49 foreigners could not verify their regular immigration status in Mexico.

In addition, the authorities reported the arrest of three women allegedly engaged in human trafficking, who were made available to the authorities to determine their legal status.
In this 2022, the massive migration of Nicaraguans has been higher than in other years. The reasons, according to experts and civil organizations, are due to the economic crisis that the country is experiencing and the political persecution by the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
On their trip, many compatriots are victims of extortion, kidnapping, victims of accidents or drown in their attempt to cross the Rio Grande, which according to social organizations, the list of deaths amounts to more than 20.
During this week, the Mexican immigration authorities also rescued 41 migrants in the State of Veracruz, including 11 Nicaraguans, who were mobilized inside a van in terrible conditions, reported the National Institute of Migration of Mexico (INM).
The migrants told the rescuers that they had been “locked up for several hours”, for which they were treated and placed under the protection of the immigration entity.
