Mexican actress Carmen Salinas passed away after several weeks hospitalized for a stroke, the family confirmed Thursday night in a statement.
“It is with deep pain that we inform you that the actress Carmen Salinas has passed away today, December 9, 2021,” reported her relatives in a statement they shared through social networks.
“We thank all of your expressions of support and respect for our family: as well as the expressions of affection and prayers that you offered to our beloved Carmelita Salinas,” the text continued.
On November 11, the news was released that the actress had had a severe deterioration in health, something that shocked the Mexican population.
As reported by Salinas’ nephew, Gustavo Briones, the actress had been admitted to the hospital in a serious condition after having suffered a stroke that caused a natural coma.
Before she was admitted, Carmen sShe was still active in her profession as part of the cast of the telenovela “My fortune is loving you”, by Nicandro Díaz, so the news that the actress had deteriorated in health was a surprise to the public and those close to her.

Born in Torreón, in the northern state of Coahuila in 1939, the actress was one of the most beloved in the country after maintaining an active career for more than half a century.
