Mevir has been repowered. “There was no planning from the previous administration,” said Deputy Mario Colman

Half of the homes that Mevir is building in Ombúes de Lavalle are for single mothers with dependent children, with a subsidized quota of around three thousand pesos. Mevir’s investment in this town is in the order of five million dollars.

This was pointed out to EL ECO by the nationalist deputy for Colonia, Mario Colman, who highlighted the work of Mevir in this town in the department of Colonia and remarked that it is a State policy focused on those people who most need housing.
“There are 52 houses that are being built in a nucleus of Mevir as a State policy plus a bit that are dispersed in the housing modality on the land, which represents an investment of 5 million dollars,” Deputy Colman explained to EL ECO. “Half of these homes are for mothers with children, low-income single-parent families, with a subsidized quota of around three thousand pesos,” he said. And he added that “it is very important help for those who need it the most,” he said.

“There was no planning in the previous administration”

Mevir has been repowered in the current administration, since, Colman said, “by the economic index of the department there was no planning for funds in the previous administration.”

Currently, they are working with the Faculty of Chemistry on a solution to make the water drinkable in the Mevir project in Paraje Campana, “it was not possible to continue the Mevir de Campana project and they are working with the University”, since the water from the subterranean water tables in the area produced a dangerous excess of arsenic.

But also, he said, “we are also in Conchillas to continue with the Mevir project, but we have difficulties accessing the land,” he said. “There were two calls and there was no good qualification of the land that made the land proposals.”
“Now we are working with an agreement with the Colonization Institute in Radial Conchillas and in Pueblo Gil next to the church. We have been delayed, because we have to resolve the land issue.”

He assures that if all goes well, Conchillas will also have his complex because “Mevir is in dialogue with the Colonization Institute and with Anep to obtain the land that allows him to build a housing complex in this town,” he said.
