Santo Domingo.- The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (Opret) reported that it will suspend its service this Sunday 27 in five Metro stations on line 1, from the Hermanas Mirabal station to the Mamá Tingó station, due to the work capacity expansion.
Suspension hours will be from 6:00 in the morning to 10:00 at night.
“It is necessary to suspend the service that we provide in order to advance in the work that is being carried out to expand the capacity on Line 1 of the Metro, it is for this reason that this Sunday the Hermanas Mirabal stations will not be operating, until the Mama Tingó station, from from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The institution made the caveat on its Twitter account and Instagram.
According to the information, the objective of the expansion is to double the capacity of the subway, to add two more wagons, which would add up to 6.

“In coordination with the Metropolitan Bus Services Office (OMSA), routes will be arranged in the section of the affected stations, within the same hours to guarantee the movement of users during the suspension,” he added.
In addition, there will be the assistance of the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) to maintain order in transit.
