Will there be a parking meter charge at Christmas?
According to the Ministry of Mobility (Semovi), on Wednesday, December 24, the Ecoparq parking meter service will operate normally, so users must make the corresponding payment in the areas where they park.
In contrast, on Thursday, December 25, parking meter charges will be suspended for Christmas, so it will be possible to park free of charge in Mexico City during that day.

Recommendations for moving at Christmas
Wednesday, December 24, is one of the busiest days in Mexico City, as thousands of people make last-minute purchases, go to family gatherings and Christmas dinners, and many work activities conclude that day, which increases mobility on streets, avenues and public transportation systems, especially during the afternoon and evening. Therefore, it is important to plan for transfers and consider extra time.
Taxis can be an option to get around, although high demand makes it difficult to find available units. In the case of transportation applications such as Uber or DiDi, it is important to consider that they operate with dynamic rates, so the greater the demand, the higher the prices.
Public transportation remains one of the best alternatives to get around during Christmas celebrations, as long as special operating hours are taken into account.
For Thursday, December 25, the influx decreases considerably; However, it may be difficult to find transportation, such as taxis, minibuses, or app services, so patience and planning are recommended.
If you use a private car, you must take into account that traffic can become heavy, especially on December 24. In addition, the Hoy No Circula program will be applied as normal on both Wednesday, December 24 and Thursday, December 25.
