Workers of the Caracas Metro company announced that the trip will cost four bolivars, a 100% increase in fares
The Caracas Metro announced an increase in its rates. The state company informed users that starting next Sunday, May 7, the trip will cost four bolivars.
The information about the increase in rates was confirmed by workers of the company itself on May 3, two days after the ruler Nicolás Maduro announced the increase in the food voucher but not in the monthly salary of the workers.

The salary of a worker is 130 bolivars, equivalent to 5.22 dollars, according to the rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela. With the increase in the fare on the Caracas Metro, a person who works from Monday to Friday will spend 160 bolivars per month on round-trip fares.
In January of this year was the last time that the government of Nicolás Maduro authorized an adjustment in the rates, when it went from costing one bolivar to two bolivars.

The ruler Nicolás Maduro reported on Monday, May 1, that the food ticket or “cestaticket” will increase to 40 dollars and will be indexed to the official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV). He also approved a $20 “economic warfare bond” to bring that “bonus” and indexed income to a total of $60.
The new dollarized amounts have no salary incidence. The cestaticket must be paid to public employees and in the private sector, but the allocation of the “economic war bond” is intended only for those enrolled in the Patria system.
The bonuses have no impact on the rest of the salary benefits, such as vacation pay, utilities or year-end payments, and social benefits, which will continue to be calculated at the current minimum wage.
