The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) warns about the possibility of formation of an extratropical cyclone this afternoon (21), with strong winds affecting mainly the South Region and the coastal strip that extends to the southeast of Espírito Santo. Gusts above 70 km/h are expected.
According to Inmet, there are forecasts of “large volumes of rain, lightning and gusts of wind” in the South Region and part of the Southeast and Center-West regions, events that are a reflection of the “strong areas of instability, formed between Paraguay and the north. from Argentina, which are advancing towards Brazil”, with the possibility of also causing hail.
“In addition to the states that make up the South Region, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo will be the most affected areas, where there is also the possibility of hail and winds of up to 70 km/h. The storms can still affect part of the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Goiás”, informed Inmet.
