Meteorology issues “green alert” for six provinces

Meteorología emite «alerta verde» para seis provincias

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) issued “green alert” for six provinces, due to possible floods that could cause a cold front and a trough on Dominican territory, starting this Tuesday.

Meteorology reported that the alert applies to the provinces of Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Puerto Plata, Monte Cristi, Hermanas Mirabal and Valverde, all in the north of the Dominican Republic.

In these populations moderate to heavy downpours are forecast since the early hours of Tuesday, according to the forecast.

In addition, a warning was issued For North Coast boat owners, who are recommended to stay in port due to the abnormal waves in the Atlantic.
