Meta announced the launch of your own digital clothing store for avatars on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. Now users will be able to buy clothing to customize their style with great design brands.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, the Avatars Store will be available gradually next week. There will be offered digital outfits of Balenciaga, Prada and Thom Brownethree of the most iconic fashion brands in the world.
For now, users will be able to purchase these digital outfits, as well as select existing options at no cost, for Meta app avatars: Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.
The avatars in three dimensions (3D) They arrived on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger in February of this year. With them, Meta sought to pave the way for the implementation of the metaverse in all its services.
The announcement was made on an Instagram Live with Eva Chen, VP of Fashion Partnerships for Meta, and opportunities for brands and businesses were established.
Among future goals, Zuckerberg noted that he hopes that designers do not need materials to carry out their creations and «anyone with a computer and imagination” will be able to do it.
He later stated that he hopes that digital goods will serve to express himself and that it will be a “great catalyst for the creative economy.” Furthermore, he anticipated his intention to take this initiative to virtual reality (VR).
