The ‘flea’ boarded his private plane with his family to Paris to continue his season in the French league after taking a well-deserved rest by leading Argentina to victory in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar on December 18 , as confirmed to EFE by sources at the Rosario airport.

PSG coach Christophe Galtier had announced that Messi would return to training between January 2 and 3, after celebrating Christmas and New Year with his family in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe province.

He is expected to return to his starting position on the 11th of this month, when PSG hosts Angers in a match of the eighteenth round of the French league. Gone are the days of celebration and jubilation, after the Argentine people received him as a hero by winning the third World Cup and finally obtaining his most dreamed of trophy.

Before leaving, residents of the Kentucky Club de Campo -a private neighborhood where his house is located in Rosario- gave him a signature book with messages of affection for his achievements in Qatar, according to what the administrator of the place, Juan Félix Rossetti, told EFE.

Although the delivery of this gift was carried out in a reserved manner, the soccer player’s relatives made the delivery of the copy public through two photos inside Leo’s home.

“Thank you for your valuable effort and dedication to sports, and for so gloriously representing our beloved nation in the world. Thank you for your talent and discipline, for wearing the Argentine jersey with an example, for making us feel proud. Congratulations, Lio! To you and the whole team! A warm welcome hug for your beautiful family”, expresses one of the messages on the cover of the book.
