Dina Boluarte’s government is weak, say 85% of Peruvians
The public recognition of the Minister of Economy and Finance, José Arista, days ago, of the weakness of the current government, is confirmed by the majority of the population in the latest survey carried out by Ipsos for Peru21, which reveals that 85% of Peruvians consider that the current government is weak. Dina Boluarte It is a weak administration. Only 11% rate it as strong.
The figures are even more eloquent at the regional level. For example, in the north, 92% consider the regime of the former political partner of the coup leader Pedro Castillo to be weak. In socioeconomic levels A and B, the figure is also high: 90% in each of them, while in the age group it also rises to 89% among respondents aged 43 and over.
Dina keeps falling
Beginning the fifth month of the year, Ipsos also examined the level of approval of the head of state, Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzén and the head of Congress, Alejandro Soto.
The result is more than discouraging for Boluarte, who has fallen for the third consecutive month. Last March, it is recalled, he registered a 9% approval rating, but in April it dropped one point to 8%, now he has a meager 7%. His disapproval rating this May, meanwhile, is back at 88% as it was in March.
The study also reveals that Boluarte falls even further when it comes to the urban level measurement, where only 5% approve of her, and this percentage is replicated among women and in the southern and eastern regions. She fares even worse in the evaluation by age group, where she practically collapses: only 4% of citizens over 43 years of age support her.
