SANTO DOMINGO. –The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Franklin García Fermín, He received in his office a commission from the Evangelical University Foundation (FEU) and the Dominican Evangelical University (UNEV), with whom he analyzed the challenges of the university system and its prospects for internationalization in international markets.
The FEU commission was headed by its president Alejandro Bernabé Mañón Rossi, while the UNEV commission was headed by its rector Juan Guerrero Ávila.
During the meeting with García Fermín, the academic executives committed to raising the quality of higher education in the Dominican Republic.
Mañón Rossi and Guerrero Ávila highlighted the role played by the head of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) in the face of the new challenges that arise in this sector in the international arena.

For his part, García Fermín said that efforts will be renewed to achieve education at the highest level, as is the wish of President Luis Abinader Corona.
He recalled that a week ago the MESCyT launched the Academic Destination program, aimed at promoting Dominican university centers in the international field.
He highlighted the investment made by the Government to send young people to prepare themselves at the most demanding universities on all continents.
García Fermín thanked the top executives of FEU and UNEV for their visit.
The deputy ministers of MESCyT, José A. Cancel and Juan Francisco Viloria Santos, participated in the meeting.
In addition to Mañón Rossi and Guerrero Ávila, the university commission also included Kelvin Cuevas, dean; Dr. José Dunker, associate dean, Vianet Polanco Riveras and Tomás Gómez Bueno.
