The work would start on November 22 and they have a term of 14 months to execute. They consider that at the peak of the works there would be about 100 people working. Around 7,500,000 dollars will be invested, half of which will be provided by the National Government’s Planning and Budget Office and the other half by the Soriano Municipality.
This new project includes the construction of 3 swimming pools (one semi-Olympic, one for multiple uses and for children, and one for therapeutic and physical rehabilitation activities).
It will also have sectors with changing rooms, showers, toilets, administrative offices and the new offices for the headquarters of the Sports and Recreation Secretariat. In addition, on an upper floor there will be several multipurpose rooms that will serve both for the practice of various sports disciplines as well as for the development of other activities (conference rooms, events, etc.).
The area to be occupied is 5,500 m2 and all the infrastructure will work with the contribution of renewable energy and following high construction standards.
In a second stage, multi-sport courts will be built in the exterior spaces of the Center, which will occupy 2,700 m2 in the sector located to the east of the “Luis Köster” stadium, on Garibaldi and Herrero y Espinosa streets.
It is estimated that some 6,000 people per month will be using the infrastructure and that a number close to 24,000 will do so indirectly when activities are carried out.
