The former vice president of the Republic, Mercedes Araozspoke about the latest revelations in the framework of the oral trial against Martin Vizcarra for the Lomas de Ilo case.
On the eve, it is recalled, his former minister José Manuel Hernández confessed that he acted as an intermediary for the pact between the former president and the ICCGSA consortium, which in 2013 meant the payment of a bribe of S/1.3 million to the then regional governor of Moquegua.
“(That) was already known because there have already been leaks about the tax investigation process. Regrettable, isn’t it? Regrettable that a person who has had such a great responsibility has used his position, in that case as governor, to take private economic advantage and that is wrong,” he said on Canal N.

Araoz added that “a public official owes himself to the population that elected him and things must be done well, not to get his own business, that is wrong.”
Then, the former Minister of Economy and Finance was warned that despite the accusations against her, Vizcarra has assumed the role of victim.
“Well, we already know his personality, right? So, he lied to all of us many times, he deceived us Peruvians that he was a person who did good; he deceived us by saying that he was not vaccinated and was vaccinated, he deceived us by saying that He didn’t have an extramarital relationship and he said it wasn’t, but it was, anyway, that’s enough, he is a person who usually lies,” he stressed.
