This Monday, November 28, the board of the Federation of University Centers (FCU), of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), met with the National Commission of Primaries and expressed their willingness to be observers and witnesses of the opposition electoral process that It is proposed to choose the presidential candidate who will face the president Nicolás Maduro in the year 2024.
According to a press release, Jesús Mendoza Morales, president of the FCU-UCV, in conversation with Jesús María Casal; Commission president, and María Carolina Uzcátegui, vice president, urged this body to be “as broad as possible, in order to encourage the Venezuelan population and guarantee that the results of the primary will be respected by all.”
Among other demands, the spokesman for the university sector made it clear that this electoral body must make the greatest effort to cover the needs of three million young people who are not registered in the Electoral Registry today.
For the student representation, in addition to Mendoza, attended the meeting Yonathan Carrillo, deputy president of the FCU-UCV; and Inyer Bellorín, Secretary of Claims.
