The member of the legal commission of the Permanent Assembly of Human Rights (Apdh-Bolivia) related to the MAS, Eliana Rojas Hurtado, was seen at the Adepcoca march taking pictures of the coca growers. She was described as “infiltrated” by the Protestants.
In a video on social networks, the coca growers denounced that the woman was passing through the conflict zone taking pictures with her cell phone to the protestants. She was not only questioned by the coca leaf producers, but also by the neighbors who claimed not to know her.
“Can’t take a photo? What a barbarity, these gentlemen are insolent. I took a photo, is that a problem?“, she said while defending herself against the accusations. She claimed to be a neighbor of Villa El Carmen, but at no time did he identify himself as a human rights activist.
In the presence of the press, coca growers and neighbors surrounded her to continue questioning her. Rojas did not hesitate to debate with each one with great annoyance.
“We all look upset and to begin with if they want to carry out demonstrations they have to be peaceful, in addition, nor they can throw dynamites. It’s the second time they’ve released,” she refuted.
A neighbor from the area also appeared and asked him to identify himself, but he merely repeated that he was a resident of the area.
“They have no respect, they have no education?”continued to attack the producers before withdrawing.
Representative Édgar Salazar confirmed to EL DEBER that Eliana Rojas is a member of the parallel Apdh. “Yes, it is part of the legal advice of the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights,” he declared.
Regarding the accusation of infiltration, he said that he is unaware of the matter because he is in Sucre. However, he made it clear that se asked him to go to the conflict zone to arrange meetings in search of peace.
“What has been asked of him is that he seeks to generate meetings with both sectors because we are concerned about the conflict that our brother coca growers from Adepcoca are generating,” he said in a telephone contact with this medium.
