Santiago.- The member of the Central Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), José De La Cruz, asks the presidential candidates of this organization to be champions of the debates.
De La Cruz states that «the PLD needs the candidates for the presidential candidacy to go to a debate». He also highlighted that transcendental figures of the party have requested debate in the past, as was the case with its founder Juan Bosch, former presidents Leonel Fernández and Danilo Medina, as well as other candidates and members.
¨If the PLD does it now, at this moment, when the vast majority of society does not know the proposals of the people who are competing, after October 16 we will have high morale to demand that President Luis Abinader, who is that he is going to be re-elected, that we go to debate¨, he indicated.
Similarly, it highlights that ¨in the Dominican Republic the debates must be established in a Constitutional manner or that they be applied by law¨.
These statements were expressed in his comment through the “Candela Pura” program that is broadcast on the YouTube platform.
