The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) transferred to the Judiciary the spaces where the Real Estate Registry, Superior Land Court of the Central Department and the General Directorate of the National Cadastre currently operate, located in the Centro de los Héroes, National District.
The land belonged to the defunct State Corporation of State Electrical Companies (Cdeee), which has an area of 11,356.99 square meters.
While the Council of the Judiciary transferred to National Assets the usufruct of the land and improvements of the former Hotel Cervantes, located in Gascue, National District, with an area of 6,850 square meters and other land in San Isidro, in Santo Domingo Este, consisting on 30,000 square meters.
The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos, said that agreements of this nature seek to improve the efficiency of the State in the use of its assets and real estate and correcting distortions that exist with the ownership of public entities.
“This is an extremely important issue, because it will allow State institutions to efficiently use their resources,” he said.
The director of National Assets, Rafael Burgos Gómez, maintained that with processes like this, positive synergy between public entities is generated.
