A new group of Baccalaureate in Administration was created
Between the two shifts, the Melo Norte Technical School reaches an enrollment of 305 students, a figure that clearly marks the exponential growth that the institution has had since its creation as an Annex of the Higher Technical School more than a decade ago.
As the most important novelty, the creation of a new group for the Baccalaureate in Administration is announced, for which there is already a waiting list with several interested parties.
“We are returning to normal activity. A new group of EMTs was created for us in Administration. It is a baccalaureate. We had a group with 42 students attending plus another 15 on the waiting list. When this new group was created, vacancies were generated so that everyone could start their courses, which took place this Monday at 6:20 p.m. confirmed the Director to THE PROFESSIONAL Journal.
“That group is already complete, therefore we would be receiving some other interested parties so that they remain on the waiting list. In the event that a student drops out of the course, we still have time for someone else to join” explained the Professor Karen Oviedo.
The EMT Groups (High Schools) work in the night shift and all have grown in terms of the number of students. “We have more than 160 registered in the night shift” revealed. “It is a very important amount for our School. The demand for our courses has increased a lot” pointed out.
At night the proposed Gastronomy BTP also works, for which there is a waiting list of 6 students. “For reasons of capacity of the workshops, the group cannot exceed 25 students” reported.
María Espínola with 145 students
“During the day, from 7:50 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., we have the María Espínola proposal. It is an Extended Time format where we have 6 groups: 2 Sevenths, 2 Eighths and 2 Ninths” said the Director of the Melo Norte Technical School.
Some 145 students attend this modality.
“If we add the two shifts we are exceeding 300 students” revealed one of the founding teachers of the educational center. “It started in 2012 with a group of Sports Baccalaureate and today we already have courses from 7th to 3rd Baccalaureate (6th year) therefore young people can complete their entire educational career in our institution” projection.
“The area has grown a lot. At the time, the closest that the little ones had in terms of educational proposal were the Liceo 1 and the Liceo 3” remembered. “UTU came very well due to decentralization. Until then we only had the Higher Technical School. This opened the door to all the kids in this area of the city. Fortunately, it has grown a lot in these years” stressed.
extension works
“We are waiting for two mobile classrooms” counted. “The Company is already working on the demolition of the building on the corner, where the Polyclinic used to be, so that once this task is completed, install those mobile classrooms that have already been approved” Professor Karen Oviedo ended by saying.
