The monthly contribution of the Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) increased from R$75.90 per month to R$81.05 per month from today (1st), since the amount is calculated based on the minimum wage, which was also readjusted. The contribution represents 5% of the new minimum wagewhich rose to R$1,621. 
Payment
The amount is paid through the Simples Nacional Collection Document (DAS), which, in addition to the social security contribution, collects the taxes owed by the MEIs.
DAS is due on the 20th of each month. It can be issued directly on the Simples Nacional Portal or via the MEI App, available for iOS and Android.
There is also the option to pay by bank slip, PIX and automatic debit or other options offered by financial institutions.
Individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs) who carry out activities subject to the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS), in commerce and industry, have an increase of R$1 per month in the DAS.
For activities subject to Tax on Services of Any Nature (ISSQN), service providers, the sum is R$5.
Entrepreneurs who carry out both types of activity need to pay both taxes, paying R$6 more in the contribution.
MEI
The Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) is the simplest way for an entrepreneur to formalize himself, as it provides the registered person with a National Legal Entity Registry (CNPJ) number.
Once formalized as a MEI, the entrepreneur can easily issue invoices, open a business account and have access to loans with better interest rates.
Additionally, you can contribute to retirement and receive social security benefits.
To become a MEI, annual revenue must be up to R$81 thousand per year. For MEI autonomous transport, the annual value is up to R$251,600.
