The Ministry of Economy and Finance prepares a series of regulatory devices with the aim of preventing Petroperú from requiring State resources again, after denouncing that the portfolio faces the difficulty of accessing real information about the economic situation of the state oil company.
“It has been difficult for us, because we still have difficulty accessing real information from Petroperú. It is unfortunate to say it. You ask for information and they delay or they do not tell you everything in full. So we have already made a decision (SIC),” said Economy Minister Denisse Miralles to the RPP News program.
He stated that, in the state company, there is a management team appointed by the new board of directors that has been asked for specific information. He mentioned that the new board of directors is meeting and is requesting information.
For this reason, he announced that, in the coming days, before the end of the year, the Executive will publish some devices that will allow them to take measures so that the state company of all Peruvians stops generating expenses for the State.
Miralles specified that from 2022 to date, the Peruvian State has paid S/17,000 million for Petroperú’s debts to keep it afloat.
“That (the honoring of debts by the State to Petroperú) is unfair. That far exceeds the budgets of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health,” asserted the minister.
