The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) designated this Sunday Betty Sotelo Bazan What Deputy Minister of Finance, replacing the resigning Gustavo Guerra-García.
The fact was confirmed by Supreme Resolution No. 003-2022 of the MEF published today in the Official Gazette El Peruano.
Sotelo Bazán resumes the position he held between December 2020 and August 2021, which he also held between 2018 and 2019.

Last Thursday, Guerra-García’s resignation from the vice ministry was announced, after six months of his appointment and after having worked mostly with the former head of the MEF, Pedro Francke.
Betty Sotelo Bazán is an economist from the Federico Villareal National University and a Master of Public Management graduate from the Universidad del Pacífico.
He has more than 40 years of experience in public administration and has developed his professional career at the MEF. Before being appointed as Vice Minister of Finance, Sotelo had been serving as General Director of the General Directorate of Public Treasury of the MEF. She was previously the general director of the General Office of Investments and Projects of the MEF.
Between September 2017 and March 2018, she held the position of Secretary General, and between August 2016 and September 2017 she was executive secretary of the Vice Ministerial Office of Economy. She has also held positions such as General Director of the General Directorate of Indebtedness and Public Treasury and Executive Director of the National Directorate of Public Indebtedness, in different periods.
Other functions in which Sotelo stood out was leading the Special Project “Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund”, which was held in Lima in 2015.
