The Ombudsman’s Office and the Ministry of Government reported that they hold meetings in the communities of Charco La Pava, Changuinola Arriba, Valle del Rey and Guayabal. to discuss important issues this week such as: collective land, government projects, agreements with the company AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), with the aim of following up on the TRI agreements and on Friday having a final report on the matter.
“The start of this work table seeks to have their rights recognized by both the State and the company,” said the leader and spokesman for the four affected indigenous communities, Ernesto López.
He indicated that the issue is very sensitive for the community because it is part of the request that was formally made and the participation of the Ombudsman’s Office is very important for us because they are guarantors of this process and we want the transparency of said process.
According to the Ombudsman’s Office, these days of meetings will continue until next Friday, October 28, when a final report is produced.
