The 25th Meeting of Traditional Cultures of Chapada dos Veadeiros arrives, this Saturday (20), on its last day. Held annually since 2001 by the Jorge Cavale Culture House and the Multiétonic village, the festival occupies the village of São Jorge, district of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, at the entrance of Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, with free activities and open to the public.
The program included shows, processions, theatrical performances, artistic exhibitions, workshops and a sociobiodiversity handicraft and products fair, as well as debates on cultural, environmental and economic policies for traditional peoples – including the traditional and popular cultures seminar and climate justice: global dialogues, local knowledge, carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Culture.
“We arrived at the end of the meeting, after eight days receiving traditional cultures from all over Brazil, masters and masters from the International Seminar on Traditional and Popular Cultures and Climate Justice. The balance we do, with great joy, is to be able to gather 213 masters to discuss public policies that strengthen the traditional culture of Brazil,” said the cultural producer, creator and organizer of the meeting, Juliano Basso.
This Saturday, according to him, transformed the village of São Jorge into a scenario for the meeting of Congos. The day also included the meeting of masters and masters of popular culture, the musical poetry of Adiel Luna and the show owner of the house, Mariene de Castro and the sambadeiras of Recôncavo Baiano. “A great joy could have participated in this meeting of traditional cultures lasting the last days,” concluded Basso.
