The IEEM, the business school of the University of Montevideo, brings five experts from the region to Uruguay to talk about the new way of doing business in the face of the needs of the sustainable economy, within the framework of the XXI Assembly of Former Students.
New theoretical developments in the field of organizations, investment and corporate governance changed the paradigms, driven by an environment that is increasingly sensitive to social and environmental issues. Leaving behind the idea that the sole purpose of companies is to maximize their profits, the company’s strategy incorporates policies for environmental protection and regeneration, social inclusion and corporate governance, also known as ESG —environmental, social and governance—. The international meeting organized by the IEEM brings to Uruguay a group of experts in the area, whose objective is to show both these new opportunities and the risks of not paying attention to this agenda: Verónica de la Cerda (Chile), Matías Kelly ( Argentina), José Paulo Carelli (Brazil), Santiago Sena (Argentina) and María Croci as tenant. The Chilean speaker, CEO of TriCiclos for Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Peru and an industrial engineer and MBA (Stanford), will speak about the importance of promoting action in the environmental and social fields with the same relevance as in the economic field by designing and implementing solutions to eliminate garbage concept.
The meeting, which will be attended by the community of graduates of the management programs that IEEM has been carrying out for more than 30 years, will take place today at 8:15 a.m. in the LATU Events Center.
