Meeting held in response to the garbage crisis in San Miguelito

The Municipality of San Miguelito held a meeting with various institutions, in view of the serious health crisis that this district is facing.

The regional health director in San Miguelito, Yaviletsy Centella, reiterated that operations against dengue continue in the districts with the most confirmed cases.

“We will continue working with the inter-institutional technical committee to provide a comprehensive approach that includes education, health promotion and prevention, epidemiological surveillance and logistical support to counteract existing health threats,” Centella said.

Centella recalled that the accumulation of garbage encourages the proliferation of rodents and other vermin, which affect the health of the community.

Meanwhile, the head of Public Health, Martín Alpirez, urged all social actors in the district of San Miguelito to participate in the construction of healthy environments that allow productivity and development for all.

Among the institutions that participated in this meeting were: the Ministry of the Presidency, the General Directorate of Health – Minsa, the Attorney General’s Office, the Ministry of the Environment, the Urban and Home Cleaning Authority, the Governor’s Office, the Municipality of San Miguelito and other public entities.
