Meeting between Máximo Kirchner and union representatives focused on wages

The national deputy and president of the Justicialista Party (PJ) from Buenos Aires, Máximo Kirchner, held a meeting with union leaders in which the salary status of workers and the judicial and political situation of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner were analyzed.

The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Graphic Federation, was attended by the Buenos Aires Minister of Labor, Walter Correa, and his counterpart for Community Development, Andrés Larroque.

In addition to the general secretary of the Buenos Aires Graphic Federation, Héctor Amichetti, host of the meeting, the head of La Bancaria, Sergio Palazzo; the General Secretary of the Metallurgical Workers Union (UOM), Abel Furlán; from Suteba, Roberto Baradel; the head of the CTA, Hugo Yasky; from Canillitas, Omar Plaini; the General Secretary of the Federation of Judicial Workers Unions, Vanesa Siley; and the General Secretary of Ctera, Sonia Alesso.

In a statement it was reported that during the meeting the situation of the purchasing power of workers was analyzed and, in this sense, there was a consensus on the need to improve income.

In this context, the participants raised the need to supplement parity payments with a fixed sum to recover purchasing power and balance wages.

In addition, there was criticism of the actions of the “judicial mafia” against the vice president and the union leadership expressed its desire that she be a candidate in 2023, according to reports.

Along these lines, they agreed to continue strengthening the organized labor movement and, according to the statement, stated that “in order to defend the full right to choose in democracy, it is necessary to break with the proscription that the judicial corporation, at the request of the economic groups, imposes on it.” to the vice president.”

They also stated that “macrismo is complicit in the situation that Cristina is experiencing and acts as another instrument of economic power in Argentina.”

After the meeting, Minister Correa highlighted the meeting on Twitter and noted that the “socioeconomic framework and the needs to improve income” were analyzed, and called to “defend the full right to choose in democracy and break the ban on Cristina,” in reference to to the vice president
