The Ministry of Education (Meduca) will be energetic in the application of the laws and its internal regulations and will present the respective complaints before the Public Ministry (MP), after discovering the alleged falsification of some thirty university diplomas, presented to obtain greater score in the contest for vacancies for appointments of educators, in the Regional Directorate of Education of San Miguelito.
Meduca’s Legal Advisory Director, Jorge Chang, warned that “if the teachers who are in the contest, and are not from the system, are verified that the certificates or diplomas are false, they will be withdrawn and they will be criminally denounced before the Public ministry”.
Those educators who are from the system and are proven to have introduced supposedly false diplomas, Chang said, “will be removed from the contest they are in, these documents will not be valued and a disciplinary process will be opened for their dismissal.”
From the General Subdirectorate of Education it was announced that the investigations are continuing and the 15 other regional directorates of the country were notified of the probability of irregularities, so that they are pending and establish the magnitude of these anomalies.
Some of the alleged falsehoods found by Meduca were in the signatures of rectors, lack of security codes (bars) and stamps on undergraduate, master’s and postgraduate diplomas. Investigations in that region determined that the allegedly altered documents correspond to the Latin, Metropolitan of Education, Science and Technology universities and the one of Panama, whose representatives affirmed that they will present the pertinent criminal complaints in the MP.
