Despite the fact that various teachers’ unions have said they have no interest in participating in the ‘High-Level Work Table’ proposed by the government, this Tuesday, July 5, representatives of the Executive Body and the Ministry of Education (Meduca), with the participation of Some teaching unions will set up this Work Table in the city of Santiago, province of Veraguas, to seek answers to some of the effects generated by the increase in fuel costs, the prices of food and medicine, some issues education and infrastructure, among others.
The dialogue table will be chaired by the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, and made up of representatives of the Ministries of Education, Economy and Finance, the Ombudsman’s Office, the Free Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority and other entities.
This presidential commission will also be made up of different sectors of energy, food and others linked to these issues, to debate them this July 6, at the headquarters of the Regional Directorate of Education of Veraguas, to mediate, dialogue and keep schools open, which is the most important thing in the midst of this and understand that prolonged interruptions could cause the loss of learning and increase school dropout.
Representatives of teachers’ associations such as: Association of Veragüense Educators, Association of Authentic Independent Teachers, Association of Chiricano Educators, among other groups, are expected to participate in this Wednesday’s meeting.
