Meduca allocates $14 million to improve the infrastructure of the Fernando De Lesseps school, in Arraiján

In a meeting with the educational community of the Fernando De Lesseps Professional and Technical Institute (IPT), in Arraiján, the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, announced that the corresponding procedures for the construction project of pavilions and the realization, to short term, improvements to the campus.

The project investment exceeds 14.6 million balboas, informed the work team of Minister Gorday de Villalobos, who explained and gave dates to attend to and improve the electrical system, sanitary services, furniture acquisition, air conditioning installation, IT and other requirements.

“The campus project has already been in a public act for two weeks, and different companies are in the process of receiving proposals. Progress was also made on issues of school organization and that have been resolved through a work table, with the entire educational community, “said the minister.

With items from the Fund for Equity and Quality of Education (FECE), 41 purchases of equipment are processed, which will help reinforce the teaching-learning process in this school, where more than 170 teachers serve students from the districts of Arraiján and La jabot.

Abdiel Becerra, Secretary of Organization of the Association of Teachers of the Republic (Asoprof), stressed that the minister’s announcement to start the classroom construction and remodeling project is what the educational community that will support the initiative expected be a reality.

Currently, this IPT registers an enrollment of 2,700 students enrolled in seven industrial and technological baccalaureates, in morning and evening sessions. There is also a night school on the premises.
