The renowned jurists Mohamed Baccar and Ratiba Miladi, president of the Mediterranean Association of Jurists and Lawyers and executive director of AATASSIMO, respectively, held a meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador to Tunisia, Reinaldo Bolívar, in order to report on the actions they have been carrying out for the release of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, deputy Cilia Flores.
They reported that they have proposed activities to the National Bring Them Back Committee, with a view to putting pressure on the United States (USA) to rescue the presidential couple, reported the portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Baccar and Ratiba indicated that they submitted requests to international bodies, pointing out that in the Venezuelan case the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and International Law have been violated and that there is no valid legal reason against President Maduro or against Representative Flores. At the meeting they delivered copies of the letters they have presented, referring to the Venezuelan case.
Ambassador Bolívar congratulated the jurists for their intense activity in favor of human rights, thanked them for their solidarity with Venezuela and reported that all the materials will be delivered to the authorities of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
Dr. Mohamed Baccar is an advisory lawyer before the International Criminal Court, a lawyer at the Court of Cassation of Tunisia and an active member of the Union of Arab Lawyers, while Dr. Ratiba Miladi is an assistant advisor before the International Criminal Court.
