The Uruguayan Medical Union (SMU) declared itself in conflict before the negotiations for the mutual Galician Houseand its Executive Committee called for a r“Urgent” meeting with the Parliament’s Health Commissions, as reported this Saturday in a statement.
The measures respond, according to the union, to non-compliance with what was agreed for the redistribution of positions at Casa de Galicia. “The commitment is not respected to maintain the jobs that we have collected during these months by all the authorities with whom we have had contact”, he indicated.
In this sense, it calls for a General Assembly for next March 29. The SMU declared itself in permanent session from this Saturday and will consider the “union measures” on a “daily” basis, in order to “support the ongoing negotiation process,” the document indicates.
It will also evaluate the relevance of a national strike, he said.
“The group of doctors from Casa de Galicia has more than $140 million in labor debts accumulated over the years and, despite this, assistance was never interrupted,” he claims.
The union’s initial proposal was to employ 21 doctors for every 1,000 users. However, as reported, it was reduced in the one presented by the companies to less than five.
