The Ministry of Education (MEC) has made official the procedures, rules and schedule for the first National Student Performance Exam (Enade). It is aimed at evaluating teacher training courses. Called Enade das Licenciaturas, the exam will be administered to more than 370 thousand students from all over the country.
The notice, detailing the reformulation with a focus on courses that train teachers, was published on Monday (22) in Official Diary of the Union by the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP). He predicts that the implementation of this new modality will be this year.
According to Inep, the Enade for Undergraduate Degrees was created with the aim of improving the evaluation processes for teacher training courses. “The main changes concern the reference matrices and the objectives of the tests, which will now focus more on the evaluation of teaching skills than on the disciplinary content of each course,” the institute reported.
Theoretical and practical assessments
For Inep, in addition to having a new model of items, the exam will carry out an “assessment of the practical teaching skills and abilities developed by students in mandatory supervised internships”, now having theoretical and practical assessments, with a specific schedule for each one.
“The procedures related to the practical assessment will take place in two periods: the first, still in 2024, and the second, in 2025”, informed Inep when explaining that the deadline for carrying out the first operational procedures, such as the verification of information in the e-MEC registry by educational institutions, began this week.
Registration for the theoretical test must be completed by August 31st. The registration period for the first period of the practical assessment will begin on September 16th.
