Santiago. The First Chamber of the Criminal Court of the Court of Appeal of this judicial district rejected the appeal of the technical defense and ratified the preventive detention against a soccer coach.
The Santiago Prosecutor’s Office is investigating and accusing him of training in the creation, production and distribution of video content on child sexual abuse.
The decision was imposed against Celso Manuel Portela Álvarez, because the conditions that gave rise to the coercive measure of three months of imprisonment imposed by the Permanent Attention Court, due to the seriousness of the imputed crimes, have not changed.
At the hearing, the court prosecutor, Alba Iris Rojas, refuted the allegations of the technical defense, considering them unfounded. The coach’s video cameras, cell phones, laptops and tablets contained large quantities of child pornography.
