Those interested in identifying business opportunities arising from the signing of the free trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union (EU), scheduled to take place this Saturday (17), have gained a new tool on the internet.
The Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) launched, this Friday (16), a digital platform that brings together trade data between the two regional blocs. The calling Mercosur–European Union Opportunity Panel contains consolidated information on purchasing countries, products exported by Brazil, regional distribution of exports, applied tariffs and the tariff reduction schedule provided for in the agreement.
According to the ministry, The objective of the platform developed by the Foreign Trade Secretariat is to support the activities of Brazilian exporters and guide public foreign trade policies.
“The agreement with the European Union is the most relevant ever signed by Mercosur”, stated the national secretary of Foreign Trade, Tatiana Prazeres, referring to the potential integration of a market of around 720 million people (450 million in the EU and around 295 million in Mercosur) with the capacity to increase Brazilian exports by around US$7 billion.
“But, for it to reach its full potential, it is necessary to transform the commitments made into concrete opportunities”, added the secretary, stating that the panel represents a first contribution in a continuous effort to implement the agreement, functioning as a public policy instrument to democratize access to information.
“It organizes strategic information and makes it available to those who decide, produce and export”, concluded Tatiana.
Available since yesterday on the internet, the panel allows the visualization of information by federation unit, sectors and products.
