The former Nicaraguan ambassador Arturo Mcfields, after leaving the ranks of the Ortega regime and denouncing the crimes against opponents before the Organization of American States (OAS), decided to reactivate his profile on social networks, stating that today, March 24. he took his “freedom” back.
“Today I recover my freedom, my name and I make use of the right to use social networks, in my country this is a crime,” said the former representative of Nicaragua before the international organization, who has received national and international support for exposing the violations to the human rights of the Ortega administration.

McFields also took advantage of his social networks to thank the OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro, for his “leadership and commitment to democracy and human rights, today hope has been born in Nicaragua,” said the former diplomat.
McFields pointed out on March 23, before the Organization of American States (OAS), that “since 2018, Nicaragua has become the only country in Central America where there are no printed newspapers, there is no freedom to publish on social networks, there are no of human rights, there are no independent political parties or credible elections, there is no separation of powers but powers that be”.
“Denouncing the dictatorship of my country is not easy, but continuing to remain silent and defending the indefensible is impossible. I have to speak up, even if I am afraid, I have to speak up, even if my future and that of my family are uncertain, I have to speak up because if I don’t, the stones themselves will speak for me,” he continued.
