The district mayors of Piura They announced a massive mobilization to Lima in the coming days, because, to date, the Executive has failed to comply with the transfer of 500 million soles to complete works and projects.

At an emergency meeting, members of the Association of District Mayors of the Piura region expressed their discontent and concern over the lack of interest shown by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, who, according to them, promised to meet the demands of the municipalities, but so far has failed to keep her promise.
“We are very indignant, since the population is demanding that we carry out the projects that were included in the Reconstruction Plan with Changes, but due to the lack of transfer, they have been left stagnant. We are talking about a total of 100 projects in the areas of education, health, road infrastructure, agriculture; the only thing we see is that there is no political predisposition on the part of President Dina Boluarte,” complained Rudy Palacios Pariatón, president of the association of district mayors of the Piura region.
The mayors, through a memorandum sent to the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, questioned the fact that the requests sent to the Ministry of Economy are always rejected. They also urged her to hold a meeting in response to their requests.
“We demand, Madam President, an urgent meeting with you, your executive cabinet and the congressmen of the Republic of the Piura region, to address as soon as possible the investment needs of our different local governments, otherwise we will be announcing a displacement of protests with our communities and populations of the different districts,” they state in the document.
