Mayor’s Office of San Miguelito cleans up with the Police and the justice of the peace for events that occurred in the Xtreme Plaza culecos

After one person was shot to death and three others were injured in an event held in the Xtreme square in the district of San Miguelito, the municipality issued a statement in which it assured that the organizers of this event did not have the corresponding municipal permits to the realization of this type of activities as a culeco was, since this activity is not contemplated in its operation notice.
Regarding the call that the National Police will make to request the suspension of this event, Mayor Héctor Valdés Carrasquilla assured that he received a call at 3:15 in the afternoon from the chief of the area police, Deputy Commissioner Bill Rodríguez, and there he told him to act in accordance with the law, since, in effect, the activity did not have the corresponding municipal permits.
The mayor assures that the head of the police zone informed him that he would remain in place with police units to guarantee public order; however, the municipality regretted that this did not happen.
The mayor’s office recalled that Law 16 of June 17, 2016 in its Article 29 numeral 14 Establishes that it is the jurisdiction of the justice of the peace to attend to and decide matters related to the holding of parties or any public entertainment activity without the corresponding municipal permit they added that they will initiate an investigation to determine the reasons for the inaction of the police and the competent authority.
