The Mayor’s Office of La Paz reported this Wednesday that it is analyzing the possibility of delivering uncollected school baskets, in the first and second stages, until this Friday as the last possibility to benefit the laggards. If in this last opportunity the parents do not do it, the possibility of handing over to families in vulnerable situations or students excellence 2021 is studied.
“We are considering the possibility of making a new installment with the laggards, since many families were not aware of it despite the fact that we have had meetings with the company Empresa de Apoyo a la Producción de Alimentos (Emapa) and the school boards, with directors too; where all these dates have been socialized ”, informed the municipal secretary of Education and Citizen Culture, Isabel Espíndola, to the Municipal News Agency (AMUN)

The proposal was presented by Espíndola in the last neighborhood discussion, held in Downtown District 2, where he announced that “we are looking at the possibility of doing it on Thursday or Friday”, the delivery of the 4,826 school baskets not collected between Monday the 13th and Tuesday December 14th.
The Mayor’s Office of La Paz reported this Wednesday that 58% of the lagging parents collected the school baskets between last Monday and Tuesday. In fact, 6,795 heads of households removed the food packages out of a total of 11,621 that were not collected in the first four weeks scheduled.
According to information from the Municipal Secretary of Education and Citizen Culture, 58.7% of the laggards collected food in the Centro macro-district; in Sur and Mallasa, they collected 65.99% of the beneficiaries; in Max Paredes, 53%; in Cotahuma, 61%; in Peripheral 54% and in San Antonio 55.68% of the parents who are lagging behind.

Secretary Espíndola reported that more than 96% of the school baskets have already been delivered in the municipality, which add up to 132,538 in total. “We have already exceeded 96% of deliveries. We consider that it is a record, that we are doing very well, because we have done that 96% in a month of work ”, he highlighted.
The authority was also consulted about the final destination of the school baskets that were not collected until Friday. In this regard, Espíndola pointed out that the possibility “of expanding this delivery to people in vulnerable situations” or to excellence 2021 students is being analyzed.
