The mayor of Temuco, Roberto Neira Aburto, called for a dialogue without exclusions due to the acts of violence recorded in the southern macrozone, linked to the Mapuche conflict. In addition, he expects more communication with the next government, which will preside Gabriel Boric.
The mayor argued that it is essential to maintain a dialogue with all those involved in this conflict, that it be without exclusions and with a high vision. “If someone is left out of this process, the wounds will never heal,” Neira said.

Exception status
On the decision announced by the future Minister of the Interior, Izkia SichesIf the State of Exception is not renewed in the southern macrozone, the communal chief stated that he expects greater communication with the next government.
“We cannot do the same old thing and expect different results. And I think, unfortunately, communication needs to be fine-tuned,” she commented.
“I have always been available for dialogue. I have even spoken with the future authorities, but measures are announced such as ending the States of Exception and in the region we still do not know what is coming and with whom we will work to find a solution to this subject”, pointed out the mayor of Temuco.
Likewise, he affirmed that the State of Exception “changes little or nothing in reality. We have witnessed more deaths and attacks, perhaps less, but with the same serious connotation. So, I can agree with not using this measure anymore, but we do not know what is the future plan?
“It is not that I want to anticipate the work of the incoming government, there I am respectful, but if we announce actions, we cannot leave what will come up in the air. We must cut the circles of solitary confinement that exist in Santiago to La Araucanía, that logic in all previous governments have not advanced”, he emphasized.
Lastly, he said that as “mayors, and here I speak for many who want to be part of the solution, we haven’t had the space yet. I hope that once it’s taken over, it will exist. That’s why my call is to open the dialogue in whatever comes and We will be supporting there.”
“We are against time and the teams that arrive in the region must have the fine tuning of citizens that at least we mayors have. We cannot wait any longer,” he concluded.
