The mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias, asked the Government this Friday to authorize the application of the fourth dose against Covid-19, for all those over 18 years of age, before the doses spoil.
“That the vaccines are not spoiled, I ask, I beg the Government to open (the possibility of applying) the fourth dose for all those over 18 years of age,” said the mayor.
He argued that in this way all people will be immunized and they can even stop wearing face masks, as is the case in other European countries.
On Wednesday, the Minister of Health and Sports, Jeyson Auza, confirmed the application of the fourth dose of the anticovid vaccine, however, he pointed out that it was only authorized for certain groups, including patients with underlying diseases and people traveling outside the country.

On that date, the authority said that the Government’s priority is the vaccination of people who did not receive the doses.
Likewise, Chuquisaca took the lead by opening vaccination to all those over 18 years of age, thus becoming the first department to take this step independently, reported Headquarters director Juan José Fernández, according to Correo del Sur.
He pointed out that this decision is a strategy to protect the health of people who applied the third dose in October and November, in addition to taking advantage of the vaccines that expire at the end of the month.
