The mayor of the province of Jauja, Ángel Huamán Mucha, was sentenced to eight years in prison for the crime of fraudulent embezzlement. His lawyer Emiliano Ramos filed an appeal and the hearing was scheduled for this Thursday, November 14.

The now sentenced mayor claims innocence and asks for justice, since he made the complaint and today says he is unjustly sentenced to spend years in prison. He argues that he was tried with a law that was not in force at the time of the events.
“I am a person who has no criminal or administrative responsibility; because in my capacity as mayor these people were not under my dependence, in addition the court applied a law that at the time of the events was not in force, that is, they tried and sentenced me with a modified legal norm subsequent to the alleged illegal act.he pointed out.
